Hello dear friends, Felipe here, bringing you the š„hottestš„newest ways to support the Charter for Compassion.
The Charter is a non-profit organization that is funded by grants and donations from people all around the world. We are very grateful to our sustaining donors and all those who have made one-time donations to the Charter for Compassion. If you would like to become a sustaining donor, you can learn how to do so here.
If you want to support the work and mission of the Charter, here are some quick, easy, alternative ways to grow and support our compassionate work.
1 - Attend our Virtual Global Gala on November 20, 2021.
The Charter for Compassion is hosting our annual Global Gala, virtually this year, on November 20, and we are thrilled to invite you to a powerful program filled with joy and great news of compassion in action around the world.
Be inspired by keynote speakers, singers, and poets, and celebrate compassion as we honor 10 people who will receive our 2021 Charter for Compassion Humanitarian Awards. More information, including the names of our honorees, entertainers and guests will be shared soon. I have the honor of being the Master of Ceremony this year! Please, join us for this online three-hour celebration of compassion.
All the proceeds from the gala are dedicated to our mission and operational costs.

2 - Create a Facebook fundraiser benefiting the Charter for Compassion, enabling friends near and far to celebrate your birthday with you.
If you are a Facebook user perhaps you already know about Facebook birthday fundraisers.
Did you know that there are no administrative fees when you create a nonprofit fundraiser on your Facebook page? 100% of the funds you raise go directly to the nonprofit. Facebook will remind you approximately a month prior to your birthday to start a fundraiser for your favorite nonprofit. A great way to allow friends, far or near, to celebrate you on your special day. Just in case you've not listed your birthday on Facebook, here are some directions taken directly from the Facebook Help desk (https://m.facebook.com/help/1910205189301966 with some personal additional suggestions).
5.When you have clicked Create
A message will pop up that congratulates you on creating your fundraiser. Now you can invite your friends to donate, share your fundraiser in your News Feed, or donate to the fundraiser yourself.
If you're not ready yet to do any of those things, tap X, in the top left corner.
As mentioned, donations via Facebook fundraiser are 100% of the money paid out to your cause of choice. Facebook fundraisers are a great opportunity to share your connection to the Charter. We always recommend sharing it in your news feed as well as directly with specific friends, enabling your friends to share your fundraiser on their own page.
3 - "Donate" sticker on your Facebook and Instagram stories
If you are familiar with Facebook and Instagram stories, you may have seen one in your stickers options that says "donation," with location, tagging, questions, hashtags, gifs, polls, etc.
Stories are content you share that will be expire 24 hours after being posted. The stories option allows you to share content from other accounts, share your own posts, ask questions, announce something, etc. You can access someone's story by clicking or tapping the profile picture of an account. If the profile photo shows an active circle surrounding the photo, then that user has posted a story.
Regardless of whether you have an active Facebook Fundraiser on your page, you can always post a story and add the donation sticker to it. To add a sticker to your story, after having recorded a video or taken a picture in story mode, tap the square with a smiley face located at the top of the screen. Select donation and then search for "Charter for Compassion" to add us as your recipient. A little sticker will show up on your story. You can choose where to put it on your screen, as well as the size and text on the sticker.
All proceeds go to the CFC and the fundraising donation sticker, as well as the story in which it was included, disappear after 24 hours.
A great time to use this sticker feature is during Giving Tuesday, Day of Service, Golden Rule Day on April 5, International Peace Day on Sept 21, or a date of personal significance to you to commemorate or celebrate.
As a side note, we may see this later on Twitter with their fleets, and LinkedIn with their own 'story' feature.

9 ā RoundUp App
We're so excited to announce our partnership with the RoundUp App ā a "spare change" platform that lets you donate the rounded-up change from everyday transactions. With RoundUp App, you can help us just by following your daily routine. For example, if you were to spend $5.50 at a store, it would be rounded up to $6.00 and the $0.50 difference would be donated to us.
Get started by creating an account with this link: https://roundup.app/p/CharterforCompassionInternatio and then connect your credit or debit card information enabling the app to track your RoundUps and donate your spare change each month. You can even customize your giving even more by setting monthly minimum and maximum donations or giving a one-time donation.
Plus, RoundUp App uses Stripe to process transactions (the same payment processor used by over 100,000 companies including trusted names like Amazon and Lyft) so you know your information is safe and secure.
This app can be found in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and works for iPhone and Android.
10 - Amazon Smile
For those of you who shop Amazon, this is another opportunity to support the Charter by doing what you already do.
You shop. Amazon donates a percentage to your favorite not-for-profit.
When you shop online at smile.amazon.com, Amazon donates 0.5% of your eligible purchases - at no cost to you.
AmazonSmile offers the same products, at the same prices, and the same services as the Amazon you know and use. But you have to start your order specifically at smile.amazon.com in order for your purchase to qualify. If you use the Amazon app on your smartphone or tablet, you can just set up the Charter for Compassion to be your selected recipient and it automatically qualifies any purchase you make.
Amazon is used by many and it provides a way to support us and our work without any cost to you. Small amounts all add up!
I hope this blog post has given you some choices on how to support the Charter for Compassion.
Should you have other ideas to help us raise funds, we'd love to know!
Share it with us at
with love,
Felipe.
